Rise Today

I just asked myself, not out loud but in my brain, what the heck is wrong with me?! I reach out to “friends” in their time of need and what do I get… whinny excuses and rejection.  Yet I felt compelled to rise and change this world for one person. This here little blog I decided to start, was with the intention  to share and possibly inspire you with my thoughts, ideas, experiences and fun, but it becomes evident that only a few may “get it.”  That’s fine, I can’t inspire or influence everyone I know. Obviously. So it’s been challenging … Continue reading Rise Today

Boogaloosa and Malarkey

BOOGALOOSA! By now, if you have visited my blog more than once, you know I love music, jazz in particular. Though I enjoy and support so many genres of music like pop, rock, country, blues, R&B, classical, Cajun, zydeco, gospel, hip hop, etc., jazz seems to fall further down on the scale of being high-profile. Even at the Grammy Awards, the jazz awards were not included in the prime time telecast, they were held in a separate hall, away from the high-profile nominees. That is disrespectful. The Americana Music movement is not helping either. Noticed that they aren’t recognizing JAZZ … Continue reading Boogaloosa and Malarkey

Things Independently Magical

7+7=14 7+7=14 is simple math but also today’s date.  Must be something magical in that, but not sure if there are any official groups that have a definition of what the date 7/7/14 could mean for us – the ones who need meaning, wealth and health.   I will step forward, daring to declare this is a damn good date, full of love, magic and possibilities.  That seems presumptuous and brave to declare such a thing, but it feels right.  It’s a part of my boldness and I was reminded of this in a recent post from Mastin Kipp of The Daily Love.  … Continue reading Things Independently Magical

Lovin’ the Soul and Innovation

Mental Lovin’ Friday night a Barbara Walters Special aired on ABC. She interviewed Peter Roger, father of Elliot Roger the young man who murdered several UC Santa Barbara students and himself.  The program was difficult  to watch because it made me feel terrible that this person could be on a path to a happier life, instead of taking the lives of innocent people and himself. If only he had some help from a “soul tending” professional.   Yes, Elliot did have a therapist, but it seemed from what his father said in the interview, Elliot didn’t form a close connection with … Continue reading Lovin’ the Soul and Innovation

RETROgrade

If it wasn’t challenging enough to go through three months of Mars retrograde (March 1 to May 19) Mercury Retrograde has just begun and is usually a big pain in yours and my ass.  If you are unfamiliar with Merc Retro just a brief description of the affects are: communications and devices that facilitate communication can go awry or are misunderstood, travel plans can be delayed or you may encounter more traffic jams (in LA this is imperceptible), electronic devices and vehicles can suddenly have unexplained problems and it’s not the best time to enter into legal agreements or begin new … Continue reading RETROgrade
